Our History

Founded in 1962 as the Independent Office Services Institute and known as IOSI for over 35 years. The association formed an alliance in 1999 under the name of Independent Staffing Alliance (ISA). ISA is currently the oldest, most prestigious association of independently owned and operated staffing firms within the United States. The new name reflects the industry’s evolution from its origin in temporary help to today’s broader market covering all forms of staffing solutions. Over the years, ISA members past and present have represented our industry by holding top offices in many industry organizations. ISA is proud to include in this list 15 presidents of the American Staffing Association (ASA).
